ITchineering 2008It's 2008. Welcome to ITchineering (IT/Architecture/Engineering), the number one portmanteau in the EU. The website has been updated! (slightly).
It's been exciting to kick of the year at O'day, with a BLT BBQ in Week 1, some brief small group leader training, and now the commencement of our small groups! See below for a comprehensive list of small group times and places, and feel free to contact Liz or Josh (details at the top right of this page) for more information. There is now an Facebook Group, which will hopefully provide an sweet and efficient way of communicating with people in the faculty. Check out the video there - a message from your Committee about our hopes and dreams for 2008. (Sound corny? So is the video.) Yeah. Check it. So, the reason that we exist is Jesus, but to add a little flesh to those bones and direction to our activities, we have a faculty vision: "To be built deeply in Christ, shining out like stars to our faculties and beyond."
Small GroupsSmall Groups are the life-blood of the Itchineering community. A small group generally consist of an hour (often during lunchtime) meeting with a small group of fellow members of your faculty, spending some time reading, discussing and really engaging with the Word, and praying for each other. The senior small groups will be working through a series of stimulating studies about grace. The first year small groups will be meandering through the gospel of Mark, with particular emphasis on the Kingdom of God. (What does that term even mean? Go to a 1st Yr Small Group (or read Mark on your own) to find out!) You're welcome to come along to any of our small groups or if you're interested in Christianity generally, a God's World course might suit. Contact Josh or Liz for more information (again, top right of this page).

Girls breakfast social! 14/03Girls in EU Engineering and Architecture (...and social work!) enjoying time together over a good brekky! We headed down to Urban Bites bright and early on a sunny autumn morning... and had a feast! Eggs, bacon, coffee, croissants and more, yum! It was great meeting together, having fellowship and hearing an encouraging devotion by Jo on one of the Psalms. How can we keep encouraging each other to trust in God? If you would like to be contacted about future girls events in EU Engineering and Architecture, email Liz or just keep checking this website.
RUNWAY 2007! pure air...Runway was a great conference to get us excited about the year ahead! We heard some really interesting talks on Psalms from Ray Galea, and he also shared with us some encouraging stories of his life and his church.
O-Day - Tuesday 20th February 2007O-Day commenced at 9:30 am on the Front Lawns where Euers were greeting the new first years that were coming to Sydney Uni while registering for the actual event. After half an hour of greeting old friends and meeting new first year students, O-day officially began with a welcome from Tim Robertson and an talk by Rowan Kemp on the right approach to uni.
Once the talk ended, morning tea was served and another opportunity to meet the first years occurred. After morning tea we gathered in our faculty groups and we had seventeen new first year Eng/Arch students to welcome into the faculty. A faculty tour and group activity followed a welcome from Simon and Liz. The group activity involved splitting into two large groups and working together as a team to create a equalilateral triangle while blindforded. Below are photos of the group activity. Next was a memorable engineering photograph followed by lunch and the final session.
========================================================================= "For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope--the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
