EU ARTS WEEKEND AWAY 2010. April 30th-May 2nd. BE THEREOur faculty weekend away is happening from Friday April 30th-May 2nd at the Crusaders Lake Macquarie Outdoor Rec. Centre. I have also been guaranteed by our weekend away leader that this will be the best faculty weekend away Arts has ever run. Welcome to EU Arts for 2010!The EU Arts Faculty is made up of Christian students at Sydney University studying Arts, Liberal Studies, Media and Communications and other related degrees. We believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and is turning the world upside down: changing despair into hope, hatred into peace, and indifference into love. If you are a follower of Jesus, trying to work him out, or even if you're downright sceptical, you are welcome with us! Here's our vision:
Arts students living and proclaiming Christ crucified: * authentic in love and witness * embracing a life of hard work and discipleship * hungry for prayer * culturally and intellectually present * delighted in God Small GroupsSmall groups have started! But it's not too late to join one. Small groups are a great place to study the bible together, pray and make new friendships. Whether you are investigating Christianity or keen to grow in your faith, please join us. We meet weekly for 1 hour. Seniors: Groups run at 12-1pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. 1st years: Monday 2pm, Monday 3pm (girls), Tuesday 12pm, Wednesday 11am, Thursday 3pm (girls). If you're not part of a group but would like to be, email artssmallgroups(at)gmail.com Meet your 2010 FArts Committee...
The FArts in 20101 vision. 1 society. 1 afternoon.
This year, the EU Arts faculty wants to engage with the university campus, to be a presence, and to be involved. We want to love the campus by sharing our lives and Christ with those who need to hear it most. But we want to be genuine about our friendships. Therefore, the Arts faculty is looking to provide EU Arts kids with an environment in which to help facilitate and grow these friendships by encouraging them to get involved with one society (other than the EU), attend one afternoon where they can invite friends to come, relax and have a bit of fun too. We can't achieve our vision without your help, so please get involved, love the campus, be genuine, and remember that "we love because He first loved us" 1 John 4:19.
________________________________________________________________________ Prayer
Prayer is at the core of our relationship with God, as well as our vision as Christians in the arts faculty. It is the way in which we bring our thoughts, requests and anxieties before our great Lord and express our dependence on Him.
We would love to see an arts community committed to prayer, meeting together often to pray. Why not come to one of the daily EU prayer meetings? Check out the 'Activities' tab at the top of the page... A taste of what went down at Arts Men's Getaway in semester 2, 2008... |
